my role model

A role model is described as someone you admire and try to copy. in this present times so many of us think of them only when we are asked questions pertaining them

I was in an interview sometime in march this year for a position in a telecoms company and one of the questions asked was "who is your role model, describe briefely why he/she is your role model" that was the last question on the first sheet/part, i haven't thought about that, not in a very long while so that question actually got me thinking, a role model? but i couldn't think of  any person or even anything to write there so i left it unanswered but when i looked around, people around me were writing so much about this role model hoping that would catch the interviewer's fancy, i thought to myself are the questions different, but no they aren't so what on earth could these guys be writing, does it mean that they all have and i alone  don't have a role model, are they really being honest? i am not saying people don't or shouldn't look up to great men and achievers but according to my own understanding you should try to model your life in line with his/her's so i ask you do you have a role model? if yes, do you actually act/behave like them (your role model) in any way.

As i stated earlier, i don't have a role model and there is no shame in that, we all look up to God, we admire him and want to be like him, i'm no differerent from everyone else in that regard but friends, lets put God aside, his position is not contestible, is there any one, living or dead that we not only want to be like but actually fashion our life according to their way of life? the answer to that is no regardless of what you may think, that is an honest answer and i hope you can also give your honest answer to that.

Life Sucks

i'm kind of confused and i really need major help.
i graduated like 5 years ago, then service so now its 4 years and i am still without a job, still searching, applying, even though there are very few jobs available for persons with my qualifications, i have done certification programs to boost my chances and still i remain unemployed, right now i'm confused wondering if going to school was the right thing to do when after 5 years in the university, i don't have any means of livelihood and what is more less hope of getting a job soon.

i have been thinking, what can i bring out in me that would be of use/benefit to the next person and i'm yet to fully figure it out, my unique selling point, whatever that means, whatever that is, i'm yet to find out.
i worked as a systems engineer during my IT(industrial trining program) and also as an intern Network engineer shortly after my service, i basically install, maintain and repair. i could say i derive joy troubleshooting and trying to resolve systems and network issues which requires lot of brain work. now if this is what i love doing or find joy doing, does it mean this is my unique selling point, how unique is that? it is my belief that Engineers are passionate about their jobs, there is no way you're going to be an engineer without an attachment to the job you're doing, if this is true then does it mean that my love for fixing system and network problems is as a result of the fact that that was my field of study and practice and not as i imagined "my unique selling point"
so, what exactly can i say is my unique selling point?

Kindly drop your comment at the box below, Thanks.

So much for celebrities

While Hale Berry is regretting ever being married, Victoria Becham considers names for her daughter, Mariah Carey looks forward to having her twins – a boy and a girl

The 44-year-old actress - who was previously wed to US baseball player David Justice and singer Eric Benet and has a three-year-old daughter Nahla from a past relationship with model Gabriel Aubry - thinks she has made a lot of "wrong choices" in her personal life and believes she would have been much happier if she had never walked down the aisle.

She said: "I wish I had known then that I was not the marrying kind. It would have saved me a lot of time, heartache and grief over the years.
"I made all the wrong choices when it came to love. I have been an idiot."

The 'Monster's Ball' star thinks her bad luck in love is because of a lack of a good paternal figure in her life growing up, which led her to embark on unhealthy relationships.

She explained in an interview with The Sun newspaper: "My father left us when I was young and that did affect my life. If I had a good father in my life, growing up, then I do not think I would have made the mistakes I made. I would not have been lost in love.

However, Halle - who is now romancing French actor Olivier Martinez - has accepted her past and learned from her mist

Victoria Beckham

The fashion designer - who has children Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, eight, and six-year-old Cruz with soccer star
David Beckham - is currently considering names for her new baby, and has been inspired by the Los Angeles suburb of Santa Monica.
Victoria wants to name her daughter Santa.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Posh thinks Santa Beckham has a lovely ring to it and wants something unique.

"David prefers something traditional, but will probably go along with what she chooses."

Mariah Carey is currently pregnant with twins - a boy and a girl - and husband Nick Cannon says they are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their children as they can't wait to meet them.

He said: "I'm very ready for fatherhood, Igotta be. It's any day now."

The 'America's Got Talent' host says he and Mariah have already come up with names for the tots, but are keeping them a secret.

He told website Hollyscoop: "I haven't even told my mama yet."

Nick - who has his own radio show - has also promised his wife he will cut back on his workload once the babies arrive, saying: "She wants me. She's tired of me working and running all over the place. She just wants me to be there."

While he can't wait for the babies to born, Nick recently revealed he is worried he will "faint" when Mariah gives birth.

He tweeted: "I am probably going to faint in the delivery room! I need to man up!
Or maybe I should say WOMAN UP since they are the ones that have to be the strongest in the whole ordeal! I am in awe of my wife!"

Music and Me

Music must be a lady, so says R & B singer and song writer R. Kelly who for a very long time has contributed immensely in building the music industry, world wide. Just like the music industry, he has also been trailed by lots of controversies about his private life, (that’s if he was supposed to have any at all), nevertheless, he has shown great resilience and doggedness, there are many other music icons around the world who have done a lot to the upliftment or rather growth of the music industry in their respective countries but I would like to appreciate R. Kelly who is our modern day superstar cum music icon, I for one draw a lot of inspiration from many of his songs and I know you do too, ‘I believe I can fly’  I believe was his first song I heard, of course I was much younger then and didn’t fully appreciate the music as I do now, I hear the song now and I get a totally different feeling of greatness, boundless and unlimited.
A song is much more than just the beats, we all know that all these, the lyrics, message, beat, presentation and the personality must be appropriately represented for you to have a good song, so if any one of these is lacking, then you won’t blame the audience for not appreciating the song, but I personally go for the lyrical content and the message and occasionally, I go for the beat. The ‘mood’ also has a role in the acceptability of a song, when I say ‘mood’, I mean a person’s frame of mind, disposition, or ambiance at a particular point in time and it affects the singer, the environment and the audience, you don’t expect me to play a hard core ‘rap’ song on a dark cold night or when I want to relax after a hard days job, or ‘blues’ in a beach party or when I’m hanging out with friends, in as much as we are all different and have different tastes, we all seem to agree on the ‘mood’
I totally agree with R. Kelly that music must be a lady or how can you explain all the wonderful feeling associated with just listening to a particular piece of music, words you’ve heard before and couldn’t make meaning of, instruments or beat you might have heard play and probably despised
Music Is something beautiful, when you’re down or depressed, you turn to music, when in a very bad mood, music, when you are happy you can’t help it, sometimes we even sing out loud, shouting at the top of our voices without caring if we get the words or the voice, that’s joy, there is music for every situation, and we all take advantage of the soothing effect of music, even doctors prescribe music for patients with high blood pressure , hypertension as it helps relax the body and effectively manage stress
Music is greatly necessary in our life with many different genres for different times and purposes I can’t imagine a day without listening to music or even trying to make one, music gets me going, sometimes I get depressed or awfully tired, just a song or sometimes even a line from a song could be all it takes to get me back on track. So if you haven’t made music a part of you or your companion, you are definitely missing out and you definitely need help.
Listen to a nice piece of music today and i assure you, you would want to do that again and again
Thanks for reading; I hope you are inspired by it
